Tex 17 weeks

Nate The Great

The butterflies are using Nates sand box for water and he was so excited when he found out! Looks like we need to get a bird bath because the birds were trying to get water from the pool which has chlorine in it!!!! We tore it down so they are safe :) Found Nate sleeping with his baby it was such a cute site.

Camp Cousin 2011

Nates 4 cousins came over on two seperate days to visit and we all had a great time! Nate was able to be crazy with the boys and calm with the girls so I am glad we split it up into two seperate days

Lake Trip!

Jamie and Nate found a sandy beach lake outside of town that they have been going to. I have not been going becuase they usually go in the middle of the day when its over 100* and with a pounding headache its not the best place for me.
Today it was over cast and I couldnt wait to get out there and take Tex with us. Tex did a fantastic job for his first swim. He kept wanting to go out deeper and deeper and luckily I kept his leash on to bring him back. When he wasnt lifting off and floating around he would stand with just hit head showing and just gaze to everyone else swimming it was the funniest thing. You couldnt get him out of the water! Sylas was terrified of the water so this was a real fun time for all of us to see our dog join in the fun.
The lake is great because its like a sand dun spot and Nate was able to walk all the way out there. You can see Jamie and Nates head out in the middle.

ITS A BOY!!!!!!!

We are all so happy to finally find out what we are having! Nate is already talking about showing him how to shoot nurf guns and catch bugs. I have a feeling he is going to be long legged like Nate was. He has been kicking me on and off since 18 weeks and now its every day. He was very active this morning while the tech was trying to get all the organ shots that she needed. They will need to see me again in 2 weeks to do another one. I was having a contraction during the ultrasound which made him go into a ball for a bit but then he relaxed right when we needed to see 'everything' Its so much fun to get all these pictures of him. So far we have 11, 17, and 21 weeks then we will have 23 week pictures and the final ones around the 30 week timeline. Nice little collection to go into a baby book. Dont have a name yet so we will let you know hopefully soon. :) In the picture his head is to the left and his right leg is spread straight out so he is all kicked back and comfy.

Nate and The Calender

Nate Conversation:
"Nate what is this?"
"A calendar"
"Thats right..now what month are we in?"
"June?"
"No but very very close..we are in July good job though"
"Now do you see all these Xs on the calendar?"
"yea"
"Ok those are for the days we have had already"
"Even the red ones?"
"yea the red pen ran out of ink so I changed to blue"
"oh ok mom"
"Ok we are right here...we have saturday, sunday, then monday..do you see that cicrcle on monday?"
"yes"
"do you know what that circle means?"
"CHRISTMAS!!!!!!"
"LOLOLOL no Nate its not Christmas it means we get to find out if you will have a brother or sister"
"MOM I WANTED A BROTHER AND A SISTER!!!!" (while he gives me the angry face)
"Well Nate you can speak to your father about that issue LOLOLOL"

Mixing Colors

Itty bitty Corn!

The hybrid corn was weird considering it grew half the size a traditional stock would grow and the corn is small. The regular stock corn only produced one decent size piece shown on the far left. Not sure if its because I used organic fertalizers or what but it sure was fun watching them grow! Now we get to let them dry out and bundle them for October!

TWO DOGS DINING

Half Way Done

20 weeks and we are officially half way done! Gender scan is coming quick this coming Monday. I have been walking daily and have still only gained a total of 29lbs. Baby is very active and moving throughout the day now.

I love fresh fruit and smoothies and strawberries and Nate keeps asking, ''when is that baby gonna be here'' HAHA If will be nice to know what it is so we can call it by its name or sister/brother.

The baby room is half way done and mentally complete. Just waiting on that final color.

Hubby is leaving alot sooner then we expected and is having is mini vacation time at the end of this week for a few days.

The Hunt

Yesterday morning as usual I let Tex out at 6am. He ran after something and trapped it under the swing set slide. I kept calling him because I figured it was a field mouse. He comes walking towereds me with these huge wings hanging out of his mouth. As he was insisting that he bring it in the house I had to open his mouth to get him to drop it and this HUGE cicada came flying out!!! It freaked me out!!

This morning he was on the hunt again looking for more of these crazy bugs in the grass where he found the first one.

I wont be walking bare foot in that grass!

Tex & The Sucker

Calamari

Nate asked me this morning if I could make Calimari for him like he had at the beach. I have never made it but I have seen a box of Cali at the store. I did not realize they were full squids that had not been cleaned yet. It was interested to say the least but Nate was so excited he wanted to see the beak of a squid but I could not see them so I told him to go ask Jamie and Jamie said they might take them out??

I went with a basic recipe I found online which was just flower, salt, and pepper. We were all VERY dissapointed. :( They tasted like flower and had a rubbery texture donut shape. Going back online to do some research there are many more types of seasoning you can use like paprika and bread crumbs. So we will have to try it again....

Tex

Tex was chasing Nate through the house with a pig ear roll in his mouth. Jamie and Nate keep calling him Hoss but it took awhile for us to not call Ashes Sylas HA!
