Thomas On The Go!

Nate has been playing with his Thomas set all morning long. He wanted some pictures so I took some video instead. I think poor Thomas was getting a little low on batteries so his friend was pushing him along. I think Percy got a push too! HA
Endless possibilities of track ideas. We will have to make a big one and video that.

YEA!!!!!!

Well it finally cleared up! I got worried the second day and did not think it was ever going to look normal. The white filtration media REALLY helped in this process. Im a little disapointed in the flow wave maker so I will probably have to return that and get a faster speed. Its all about the current in reef tanks so they say. Found out my live rocks was shipped out yesterday so I am just waiting around for those! Hopefully there is a free starfish, crab, or shrimp on them for the ride HAHA
I forgot to paint the background to avoid all the cords and stuff, so I will have to put a paper backing on there.

Little Tool Man

Nathan got a mini tool set from Santa and he put it to good use today. I found a box (until we get some wood) for him to put his nails and screws in. He did an amazing job! Used the screw driver perfectly and carefully nailed the nails in. With his tongue sticking out and his safety glasses on, he was determined to build something.

No Visual

Well after almost 3 hours of pre-mixing and figuring out the values of the salt gravity with the hydrometer I finally got it done. I know it looks scarry right now but that is normal. It already looks cleaner this morning then when the shot was taken. I have a micro sponge in the filter to help get that 'cloud' out. It looks like a giant cotten ball and it works quite well.
Here is also a belated pictures of Nate at the Petsmart picking out some fish for the oher tank. Santa was walking around and he gave him a highfive. Nate said, "um santa dont forget my light saver" Dad and I were laughing hysterically.

Merry Christmas!!!!!!

What a wonderful day! Mom and dad got here around 7:30 and Nate was still asleep. We got the coffee ready and then dad went over near Nates door and rang sleigh bells and saying 'ho ho ho Merry Christmas!" We heard Nate flying out of his bed in his room saying, "Santa you bring my light saver!?" (Thats what he wanted) so ofcourse dad hides until we distract Nate so he can come out. We were luaghing it was hilarous! Had a blast setting up the train set and playing with the light saver. I cooked my first Turkey bird this year. I brinned it over night and it turned out really good. Made the mother-n-laws famous giblet gravey mmmmmmm and ate a ton of pie. Got a call from Jamie and he was doing good. Hope everyones holiday was wonderful! MERRY CHRISTMAS! (Love you Jamie and miss you!)

Let It Snow!!!!!!!

We are expected to get up to 14 inches through Fri! If it gets any deeper out there I am going to have to get Nate some snow shoes HAHAHA!
Sylas wants to go outside more then Nate does. Like in the video his nose is usually right there as I am unlocking the door.
Yesterday Nate was using his sand box toys in the snow for quite awhile. He really enjoys just sitting out there peacefully watching the snow.

Making His Bed

I got Nate into the habbit of making his bed in the morning. The concept right now is getting the quilt to touch all four corners, then down the road we will work on neatness. The only problem with doing this, is that now I have to make my bed every morning. Mom knows, (Jamie too) that I am not one to make the bed. It usually looks like Nates here. So in order to use the words, "mama made her bed" I actually have to do it HAHHAHAHA So we are both helping each other out. Gets me to making mine, and teaches Nate something new.

Someone Please Pinch Me

Well I think I won the aquarium lottery today! I have been doing alot of research on salt water aquariums. I have a 10 gallon that I used to use for the baby fish. A salt water aquarium under 50 gallons is considered a nano reef. I thought it would be a great start for me to try salt water in a small version rather then change out my 55 gallon. Well I went to the pet store to get some supplies and look for a stand. They wanted $99 just for a 10 gallon aquarium stand!!!! I was so bummed because I really did not want to spend that much just for a stand. Though being the proficient aquarist I already should have known that this stuff was going to be 'up there' but for a 10 gallon!!! So me and Nate were strolling around looking at the clown fish and the star fishies and when I turned around there she was......just beaming in the light with a big 50% off sign. So I asked and they said the tank and stand were for $140 and it was 47 gallons!!!! The regular price was $501 and they took an aditional price cut on it for clearence. Well I get my supplies I needed like the salt and stuff and went up to the register. The register lady was a little puzzled becuase they were coming up as a total of $47.......sure enough that was the price! UNBALEIVABLE!!!!! They even called the manager to confirm! So here I go down the adventure of salt water aquariums. Its going to go where the Christams tree is so I cant set it up for awhile but when I do I will post some pics.

Shoveling Snow

Papa showed Nate how to shovel snow this morning. He loved it so much! The neighbor across the street came over and introduced himself. We all agreed that I should enjoy the fact that he loves it now because in a few years he will want to get paid for it HAHAHA! You can see from the side walk at how much we got. I think we got a foot so far....or maybe 10 inches....not sure.....I do know that we are supposed to get another 4 inches tomorrow. It has been getting up to 30-31 during the day but in the teens at night so it makes the roads a little slick during the early morning and late evenings. Fun fun fun!

New Flag!

I decided to retire our old worn out and faded flag for a new one. At the apartment at Polk, our front porch light always shown on the flag, so I came up with the idea of having a light shinning on it. Its a little off and needs to shine more on the flag, so when I fix it I will get another pic up. Dad helped me today with fixing the Christmas lights and putting the flag up.

Picking Out The Tree

Few days after we first got here mom, Nate, and I went to the Christmas tree lot and picked out Nate's first real Christmas tree, and my first real one in YEARS!!!!!! I wanted to save the tradition of going and cutting our tree until Jamie comes home. (sniff sniff) Nate enjoyed toasting by the fire they had there, and it did not take us long to pick one out. You could almost hear it saying, "ME ME PICK ME!"

Found these photos on mom and dads camera. My camera is very sick and not doing very well. I thought it was because of the batteries but I think its a deeper technical issue. Photos from the place at Fort Polk.......Sylas looks like he had fun being the truck dog.

Still A Work In Progress

Well here are some sneak peeks of the place. There is still some more detailing and decorating in Nate's room, bathroom, game/toy room, and ofcourse my room is far from done. The kitchen also needs some help on the shelves but other then that I think I can say that the living room is complete. I stopped to think about the rooms in the place and its funny that it always works out that way. Any time we have moved the living room was always finished first and our bedroom was always last. HAHAHAHHA I guess it shows what areas of the house you spend more of your time. Thank you to my lovely mommy for showing me the proper way to hang shelves. If it were not for her those shelves would be falling down or look terribly crooked. Good job mom! Good job!

There is so much to tell but so little space! I am back online and looking forward to catching everyone up with the happenings.
