Fishing Trip #2

It was a little odd this time. There were not nearly as many bites as the other day, but Nate was still able to reel a couple in near the shore before loosing them and then snagged this guy. We are doing a catch and release right now but its hard when they swallow the bait whole. I did a bad thing.....3 people asked me what I was using. I sadly told them....the secret is out *tear
It started raining so we had to head to the car pretty fast. I thought there were going to be gun shots behind us considering how many people rushed over to our spot LOL. Nathan was a little upset because he wanted to hold the fish while we drove but I told him "dogs and fish belong in the back!"

Chilly

Well there is a thunderstorm rollin in so the house has been a little warm. For a second I felt like I was back in Louisiana HA J/K So I put a Capri Sun in the freezer for Nate and he discovered a new way to eat/drink his juice.

Todays Catch

After school we went to the grocery store to pick up some things. When we got home Nate asked me, "mom....I want to go fishing" I looked at him with beaming eyes and thought it was music to my ears. So we threw the pole in the car and headed to the pond. Easy catchers with a small hook and a blob of .......oh wait I cant tell you that would give the secret away tee hee hee Nate was very proud and did not realize we were going to eat them. Once I started cutting his prize catches to pieces he got a little emotional. Mom made an amazing bean mexican salad thinga magigee and it was soo good and dad put some out standing chicken on the grill. Sad thing is dads chicken tasted better then the fish but oh well. "Thank you Lord for blessing us with these fun aquatic creatures to catch and eat"

Fishin Time

While Nate was in school mom and I headed down to the river so I could throw my line in. It was awesome! I caught a little guy, but I think it was too late in the morning. It was so nice to sit next to the water and listen to it. The walk to the "good spots" was also a nice scenic route. Sure beats cat fishin!

Basic Training

On Memorial Day Dad, Nate and I went to the local kiddy pond. We got a bunch of bites but we think the hooks were too big HA Then we headed over to the park and had some early soldier basic training. He had a blast and the weather was wonderful!

Jamie's Engineer Goby

Here is a video I promised Jamie of his Engineer Goby. He has gotten BIG! He has been hiding since I have had him but now that he is getting bigger he is starting to come out every day. Nate also enjoys watching him.

Rock Garden/Memorial Park

After church we headed out to Peterson's Rock Garden. It was so amazing to look at all the detail that he put into this place. Its sad though because they have not kept up with it like it should but it was still a beautiful place. The museum has some amazing displays of different rocks. I told Nate, "lets go to grandmas and break some rocks!" They said that all the rocks were found within 80 miles of Bend so they are out there! Then we went to say thank you to the soldiers at the local memorial park. This one was dedicated to the Korean War (Pow-Mia)
Then we went over to Bend Burger place and had some yummy burgers. (I had chicken ) As tempting as it was to do more stuff it was sugar bears nap a callin.

No Tent Needed

Mom has been working really hard on getting the house surroudings a little more fire proof. Nate and I came over and helped and I had fun using the hose! There were piles and piles of pine needles that needed raking. It was nice to go over today and sit back and relax enjoying hot dogs and smores by the fire. It was just like camping but no tent needed. Though I did pitch a small one behind mom the wind blew it over! The backyard and front yard are coming along really nicely. Got some new trees in and they are starting to bud out really nice. Its going to be a great place for the 'grandkids' to explore in the future. The deer seem to like it too, as seen in the last photo.
