Gettin Down And Dirty Again!

Well the neighbors saw my lovely garden and want one too. I helped them decide what plants would be best in the partial shaded area. We had a BIG problem when we started removing the grass. As you can see, it does not drain well. I told them, that unless this water drains the plants will probably not make it. I made a joke and said, "Hey Lowes sells those pond plants!!!!" HA HA
Once it was filled with new soil it soaked the water up, but its just a matter of time before it rains again and all gets sweaped away.
Have any ideas mommy?

Sick Day

Well Nathan had a stomach bug that lasted half a day last Friday. Last night, I started feeling really achy and sick. I took my temperature and it was 100.5. Jamie was out in the field so he would not be coming home until midnight.
Nathan was far from settling down for bed, and I did not have the energy to deal with him. So, I thought the best thing would be to find something that would really keep him occupied. Then it hit me like a light bulb going off! A fort! Nate has never made a fort before. I almost got excited about the idea, and there for a second was amazed at the sudden energy I had.
He really enjoyed it, and drug all his toys underneath it. It was his little domain, and no one was aloud in unless they paid the toll. HA HA HA

In The Beginning

Ever since Jamie read a few stories from this little bible, Nate reads it often. I found him quietly in his room and quickly grabbed the camera to snap this photo. He calls it, "Jesus' wurd"
Its a special thing between Jamie and Nate. Nathan wont let me read it to him, but we do read his childrens bible story books. This little bible is specifically a "da da" and Nate bible. :)

Some of Jamie's buddies wanted me to 'help' them get through this maze to win some free ring tones. I thought I was doing a good deed until I thought my heart was going to jump out of my skin!

Fishin And More Swimin

Went up to the new swimming pool here on post. Nathan had a blast! It has a few water fall things for them to walk under. We have been on a fishing extraviganza lately. We went on Saturday, did not catch anything, but we got stuck in the mud. Luckily a truck came a helped pull us out. Its amazing how a little mud puddle can trick you. HA HA. Jamie's sister and the kids went with us last night to do some fishin at the spillway. I brought Nates life jacket not knowing what it was going to look like. I am sure glad I did! The kids each caught 1 'small' kitty fish each, and I caught one too. Nate had fun holding the kids minnows that they brought. I think they named all of them.

Ahhh the sound of drills and hammers!

Well its finally time for some upstairs neighbors. The upstairs has been vacant for over a year now. Fort Polk is up-grading as many of these on-post housing with new fixtures and cabinets. They have been working across the street, and now have made their way over here. It should be ready by June. We are both excited to see who moves in considering usually couples with a young child live in these.
Please pray for good neighbors and another friend for Nate. :)

I am soooooooo happy the fish made it to Illinois! He wrote me a note and this is what it said,

"Hey, I got them today and all was well except for one that doesn't look like he will make it. I think he was being picked on because his tail was a little messed up and coupled with the stress of the trip it took its toll on him. Thank you "

Fun In The Sun Round 2

Well I brought Nate's pool from the backyard into the front yard so that the neighbors little boy could soak in the raze with Nate. Soon the upstairs neighbor then bought a bigger one and brought it down. Her two ye. ar old daughter and her friends 3 year old son came to play. Soon we had kids coming from all over the street asking to swim! So we had to designate some pool rules. We had an adult pool, middle age pool, and the kiddy pool. Nate is a little rougher then the kids his age, he tends to play with the older kids, but I guess that is because he is not around kids is own age. Used Banana Boat SPF 50 sport, and Nate was the only one that did not get burned......
(product review HA HA HA.)
We are going out again tonight when the sun goes over the house so the others dont get burned again.

Well I just could not resist adding a garden to this humble home of ours. Jamie buggs me all the time for doing this. He says we put these gardens in and never get to enjoy them, and someone else does. HA HA HA I figured this was a treat for me with my little computer greens I made.
Thanks mommy for inspiring me, from your daughter who said she would always grow vegetable gardens! :).

Busy Day

I am sorry I have not put anything on the blog lately it has. been a non eventful week. Church service was really good this morning. He talked about the heavenly and earthly things and atitudes. We went to Aligator park and tried Nathans first fishing trip. He did really good and understood exactly what he needed to do. The fish were not biting, but he had a good time.
Then we headed over to Warrior Park and let him look at all the World War machinery. We then went to the park and let Nate go crazy. The weather was so nice and cool it was a perfect time to enjoy the outdoors here at Ft Polk.
After a nice long day Jamie grilled some dogs.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Today was a good mothers day. Nothing too special or over rated, but just a fun day spending time with the family. Church service was good, and Nathan made me a hand print with a poem. I love it when he brings Sunday school arts and crafts home! It makes my day.
Jamie and Nate set up the pool for the first time. Nathan had so much fun flopping around. Afterwards, he fell asleep on the couch for awhile.
Then his cousins and Aunti Samantha came over and we grilled.

It's Time To Say Goodbye

This whole experience with selling fish has been exciting and time consuming at the same time. I officially have a buyer for the batch of 12 from Illinois! He has been struggling with the idea of a 2 day shipment or an overnight. I think with my encouragement he has finally realized that a few dollars is important when it comes to these poor babies oxygen level limits ha ha ha. There is a lady on hold for the other 30. I told her they need to grow a few more weeks. :)
I have also decided to go ahead with my schooling. I can't wait around any longer knowing that Nate is not having surgery in the next 6 months. I am excited and look forward to jumping right in.
Going to school, I will probably still raise the babies, but I have decided to keep it to local buyers.

The Shriners Hospital was wonderful. There were so many fun things for him to do while he waited. After his X-Rays he was able to pick a 'baby' out of a giant tub to care for while he waited. The appointment did not. go the way I was expecting. They said that they can not do surgery right now because they want to see if his leg works itself out on its own. He is supposed to go in again on November 12 to re-evaluate the situation. They will do more x-rays and see where it is at. The Dr. thinks that if we do surgery it might make it worse or just cause him to need more surgery in the future. I was in tears!!! I was hoping for surgery to fix our little Nate, but this is what they think is best at this time. I pounded the poor nurse with questions and my concerns and she answered them to the best of her and the Dr. knowledge. Basically it looks worse then it really is so her words were. I personally do not see how walking on the side of your foot and seeing your leg grow outward is not worse then it is, but thats my first time mommy showing through. Jamie feels confident in the Drs decision and believes that they know what they are doing and all will work out. I take it out of my hands and give it all back to God and just keep praying that in the near future it will work out.
I would just hate to see our baby boy not be able to play sports or be made fun of in school. *sigh*
After my post tramatic stress (he he he) we headed out the door and got some quick lunch. "Burgrr burgrr!!" Those golden arches never seem to slip by his attention. :).

Little Nate

Well tomorrow is the big Shreveport drive to Shriners! Yesterday I had yet to hear from the Dr. office announcing that they had his x-rays and information ready. Their x-ray machine was broke last week so I was a little nervous that they were not going to be able to get them done in time. I called yesterday and they were ready. We took Jamie to the gun range this morning, and then headed into town to pick them up. I felt like I was holding gold in my hands. Any form of picture or information that will help these Dr. out is so important.
Thank you all for your continuing prayers! We will let everyone know as soon as we get home tomorrow what the outcome is going to be.

First Time For Everything

Well Jamie came home and started working on his online classes and. I thought it would be a great opportunity for Mr. Nate and I to sit down and read some books. I grabbed some books, sat in the living room and asked Nate if he wanted to read some books. "Im busy"........um.....Im busy? I have not heard that one before....so I went to investigate and there he was coloring something on the fridge. (Of course I had to replay the scenario for the film ha ha ha).

Squeeky Clean

Well I hung on to this dog house just in case. Knowing that we. are not getting another dog anytime soon, and when we do someday its going to be another house dog I put it up for sale. It took less then. 24 hours to get a potential buyer, so hopefully it will be gone by the end of today.
It makes me feel better it will hopefully be gone. The spiders around here are so creepy that any object around your house especially a dark dog house is a major no no. I caught Nathan crawling through it awhile back and it freaked out! So we opened it up and he lost interest in it. YEA!
I asked Nathan, "Do you want to help mamma clean?" He jumped up, ran to the cleaning cubord, grabbed my favorite (Lysol all purpose) and headed for the bathroom! I busted out laughing because I have to clean that area so much. I directed him to the right direction, and he was so excited. Any duty that involves water is definitely a Nathan project.
We cleaned it up quite well, and hung it up against the fence to dry..

Around And Around We Go

I heard a bunch of screaming and laughing coming from the game room and found Nathan spinning Jamie around in the computer chair.
Sometimes, Nathan will put his baby in the chair and give it a wirl.
The video is dark, but hopefully I can get this moment again someday soon!

Jamie, Nate, And The Gun

Well with Jamie being out in the field these past few weeks he has. not worked the road in awhile. He came home early this morning for a late breakfast. Nathan went balistic when he saw Jamie's gun. Nathan wanted to touch it so bad and kept shouting, "GUUUN GUUUUN!" Jamie would not let him touch it so Nate was a little bummed out, so I told him to go get his gun gun. He strapped on his western wear and felt much better..

Ahhh The Joys Of Owning An Akita

Well I have to admit I have been neglecting poor Sy Fry. I try and brush.... him as much as I can during the week when the "blow" season comes, but its just been a lazy week. I started noticing hair blobs on the carpet and then I knew he needed to be brushed. Nathan helped brush and pick up the hair. At first he acted like it was snow and started running through it screaming! Bla I am sure I will find some hairs here and there for the next few days..

Name Tags

YEA!! Jamie got all his equipment tagged and ready to go. His helmet for example has to have his rank and name sewn on it. He also got his badges and tags put on his Class As.
Jamie wanted to get a pictures of Nate with the helmet on, but it was soooo heavy that he kept falling over head first. .

Bayou Aligator Park

The trip was alot of fun! They had a petting zoo, but we were leary of letting Nathan go in considering they had signs everywhere stating that they do bite so please use only open hand.
HA HA HA. The pigme goats were so adorable!!!! (Those were the safe ones)
The gators were actually.... . movin around quite a bit. Jamie and I both thought it was pretty funny seeing ratcoons in an exhibit. Only in Louisiana he he he.
We stopped into the cafe for some gator on a stick. It really does taste like chicken!
There was a mechanic man sitting on a chair talking to everyone. Nathan would not go near him, I thought he was a little creepy myself. :)
I tired to push Jamie into one of the large aligator pens but it did not work. :)
They had a feeding show, but we missed that by a couple minutes.
We had a great time, and would recommend it to anyone!.
