No Tent Needed

Mom has been working really hard on getting the house surroudings a little more fire proof. Nate and I came over and helped and I had fun using the hose! There were piles and piles of pine needles that needed raking. It was nice to go over today and sit back and relax enjoying hot dogs and smores by the fire. It was just like camping but no tent needed. Though I did pitch a small one behind mom the wind blew it over! The backyard and front yard are coming along really nicely. Got some new trees in and they are starting to bud out really nice. Its going to be a great place for the 'grandkids' to explore in the future. The deer seem to like it too, as seen in the last photo.

Updates

Last sunday it got pretty warm so Nate and I headed into the WallyWorld to get a pool. He enjoyed it for a couple days then we had to take it down because it was turning 20* at night and staying in the 60-70s during the day HAHAHA It was like a ceremony when it was taken down. We folded it up and Nate bowed his head and moaned. Poor guy...I told him soon we will put it back up.
We have been making little trips to the GoodWill and stopping by at Grandmas for picnic lunches. The food is always better at Grandmas house.
Had a conversation in the car with Nate the other day and this is how it went:
"Mom Gavin was throwing rocks at the beetles"
"Hey Nate you talk alot about Gavin, do you have any friends?"
"yea mom"
"what are your friends names?"
"Torence"
"oh....is Torence a boy or girl?"
"girl"
"oh thats nice"
"yea but mom shes not pretty......mom Gavin was........"
As fast as he said that he changed the subject right back to Gavin. I got to thinking......I think Im going to home school Nate and protect him from the girls out there in the real world LOLOLOL
I should have educated him more on the imortance of whats on the inside that counts, but it was an odd moment. HA

Got a call from the FRG leader today. She left a message on my phone and wanted to make sure that it was the correct number so that when the guys come home they can tell me where they are and where I got to see Jamie. Im hopeing that means they are coming home early!!
I cant beleive its been almost a year. This deployment has gone by so fast and I am so glad. Doesnt look like we are going to get our RR (2 week leave) but I have been keeping busy and making the days go by. I cant wait to get our little family back together again.
Making meat loaf with only Nate to say "mmmm", mowing the lawn, having nothing extra to clean, someone to bug or annoy, ......theres just some things husbands are good for!

Happy Mothers Day!

Today was a beautiful Mothers Day! We packed a picnic and walked along the Dechutes river. So many places to fish and I cant wait to get my license. There were lots of doggies for zeek and Sy to meet and ducks for Nate to talk to.

Over The Years

Nathan had an updated photo with his brother and after looking at recent photos of Sy I have come to realize just how old he is starting to look. Nathan loves to take pictures with his Sy and now he gets so serious during the photo, "mom mom I got him I can hold him now" awwwww

Nate Makin His Own Lunch

Well Nate wanted to make his own "meat and cheese" lunch. I thought, "oh this might be good" so I grabbed the camera and started rolling.
I did a bad thing when I put the meat and cheese on the top shelf. I used to do that to Jamie all the time. He would be standing there for ever trying to find it just like Nate was HAHAHA
I started laughing when he had to add just one more piece of turkey to his sandwich.

The CupCake

We bought some chocolate cup cakes yesterday and Nate had one after dinner. He wanted another one so bad, but it was his bed time so I told him he could have one tomorrow. I was woken up at 7am (early for Nate) to a chocolate face asking me for a rag. I couldnt stop laughing. I guess when he hears "tomorrow" he figures when the sun comes up HAHA

I asked Nate if he would like to play with the rats and he got excited. I must say hes alot more gentle with these guys then he was with Mr. Jingles the cat. With age comes change I guess. HAHA
