Grow Garden Grow!

"Houston We Have A Problem!" They are growing like crazy! The Romain Lettuce and Carrots are soooooooo slooooow at growing but everything else looks good. The corn should be knee high by the 4th of July and will need to be thinned out again in a week or two. I thinned out the green beans but apparently they grew back so looks like I will have to pull them out. We have a bunch of tomatoes hiding in there and you can see one nice large plump one that should be ready when grammy comes to visit later this week. :)

Pink Vibes!!!!

12 weeks and a couple days YEA! Im still in my original size jeans too! I have gained 10lbs and have no idea where but my tummy sure is getting big. For the first time in my life I prefer a brownie or pie over ice cream. No calm down I am not sick but it is quite strange I know. Sugar to me taste like a chemical similar to aspertame so I prefer salty stuff. I never knew A.1 steak sauce could be a best friend.

We found out a few days ago that Jamie will yet again be deploying right before the baby is born for one whole year. He was able to put in some paper work for a 60 day extension after the baby is born. Pray that the paperwork holds to what it is and they honor it.

We are very excited and i will be in my 2nd trimester next Monday YEA!

Butterfly Release!

We let all 9 of the butterflies go this morning. As soon as we walked outside they started streching their wings as if they knew what was coming. We opened the little door and waited to give them time. Most flew out right away and a couple hung around the garden for a bit. A few were left in the habitat and we finally had to coax them out. There was one left that was flying around the grass and Nate wanted to try and catch it. I think he was jelous that I was able to have one on my hand. The butterfly flew away right after the picture so I was not able to let him experience that too. :( Good news is he was happy to release them. I was worried it was going to be an emotional roller coaster but he took it very well. Me on the other hand had the good ol knot in my throat. I always get chocked up when letting animals go especially after watching them grow.

Whiskey Barrel Garden

Nate has begged me to get him a strawberry plant. Well we all know I cant just do a strawberry plant! Nate has to experience the whole thing! So I was debating on weather or not to use a bed or containers. Mom came up with this awesome idea of using whiskey barrels. I have never seen them here but sure enough THIS YEAR they actually had them I was pretty shocked. I felt so bad Jamie did all the loading and unloading but what was really crazy is how strong the smell was. It wasnt a bad smell it was actually really good like very sweet red apples with a hint of furmentation HAHA. As Jamie slowly took each one to the back yard one of them was upside down and it had a bunch of burnt lettering in the wood. I read it and to my amazement the barrels came from the Jack Daniel brewery in Tennessee 1996! They were not kidding when they said they use aged barrels in their facilities. Once Jamie and Nate got the soil into the barrels It was time to plant the goodies. All Nate cared about was the strawberries, tomato, and pumpkin. I found it funny he had to wash his hands ANY time he touched the dirt tee hee. We are doing corn which will be moved along the fence line once it sprouts, container cantelope, green beans, romain lettuce, tomatoes, green bell peppers, strawberries, and pumpkins. I will keep ya'll updated on their growing progress

Painted Lady Butterflies

Nate had 10 catapilars! They made their cacoons for a few days and they all hatched this morning! Here is a pic of what they look like. They are not opening their wings yet so its hard to get a decent pic

Busy Day!

Today was a FANTASTIC day! We got to see our little 11 week old bean for the first time and we got a vehicle!
The 'beans' heart beat was 167 and if you go towereds wives tales that means its a girl!!! We cant get too excited though sexing ultrasound is not for another 4+ weeks.
We saw it move and stretch it was the cutest thing.
