Cajun Country

Nate loves to listen to the radio when he goes to bed. When he was going through that 'sleep in mommy and daddys room on the floor' spell he would bring the radio in there with him. He knows how to use the volume, change channels, turn it on and off, and change the brightness of the numbers. Quite impressive actually....
As we all know todays radio stations are filled with some pretty nasty stuff as sad as it is, so you would think I would have to keep close ear on what channels he listens to right? Nope not the Nate he spacifically has a station he listens to. How do I know this? Often if the radio gets bumped or moved the stations get accidently changed and every time they get changed right back to this one station.
Its a small local station here that plays mixed easy listening, 1950-1960s country, and Cajun type music with banjos and all kinds of crawfish and alligator eating music.
I giggle every time I walk past his room becuase this music is so funny and it amazes me every day that Nate spacifically chooses this music.
I recorded some of it last night but ignore the time its off......I dont stay up that late haha

Oh How I Wish I Had A Hobby Lobby

I bet by the year 2015 Christmas decorations will stay out all year round! Its as if the 'fall' decorations dont exist anymore. :(
Every year I like to jump into the 50% off bins and snag some fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving decs for the next year. Around here they dont do that so you have to get the stuff quick while it lasts.
First stop...Dollar General...not bad picked up a cute harvest angel.
Then I thought..well I will go to Walmart and see what they have.
Walmart has seem to change up their ways of selling stuff yet again. The costumes and candy galore take room where decorations USED to go. Now there is a small tiny shelf of over priced cheaply made ugly stuff.
So this year I am going to do something different. Make my way to the Hobby Lobby in Alex after Thanksgiving to snag the 50% off bin WOOHOOO

Fire Truck Day & Its Not Your Birthday! & Is This Enough Money?

*As the bus was rolling past us to turn around at the bus stop you could see all the kids with these bright red fire engine hats on. It was the cutest thing....
Nate gets off the bus so excited to explain to me that the fire engine and fire fighters had come to his school.
When we got home he scouted out all the smoke detectors in the house and explained to me that we need to check each and every one to make sure they work. Of course I assured him that this was just recently done a few weeks ago.

*I noticed in Nates journal that the teacher had put Happy Birthday for today. I reminded him to tell the teacher at school that today was not his birthday. "no mom it can be my birthday today its ok" Well I guess the kids get cup cakes at school so Nate wanted every day to be his birthday.

*Nate hands me some money...."mom is this enough to bring grammy and papa to visit us?"

Internet Was Down :(

We got some use out of the Army MWR out on Toledo Bend Lake and rented a boat to go fishing. I LOVE fish depth finders! Jamie got his boating license so now he can drive them! The weather has been fantastic for the past week with no humidity and in the 70s perfect to get outdoors.

Nate played the game cube for the first time over the weekened. Jamie and him played the Mario Cart. I was so shocked at how well Nate was doing!

Of course first thing this morning before school nate wanted to play it and I said, 'absolutely not' yea he was pretty upset but he has to be good at school and keep his room clean before he can play then there is a time limit on it. I know I know 'MOM YOUR NO FUN!' :)

The Cats Have Gone Insane!

Oh gotta love the kittens...... Poor Ashes wanted to play with our neighbors dog who was visiting haha.
This morning I kept hearing something open and close in the kitchen. Ashes kept grabbing at the cubbord and sure enough there was Remmy playing in the cubbord. So now I have resorted to the spray bottle to keep them off my counters. Now that Ash has taught Remmy to get up there its two against one. I decided to use flea and tick spray as my weapon of choice. Cats HATE the smell and luckily the bottle I use shoots 4+ feet so I can hide around the corner and do it. (I dont want him to hate me tee hee) The good news is I have only had to spray Ashes once and he flew off the counter like a dog was after him. Remmy witnessed this and also has yet to step foot on the counters. So it looks like we are in the clear :)

I couldnt help it

I dont think I will be able to carry fish anymore..... I have a problem with falling in love with these guys and sticking them in my display tank. Well I did pretty good this time but this beautiful Coral Beauty Angelfish from Fiji was so stunning in color I just could not pass him up. Every day when I went out to the garage to feed him he would come out of the little pvc pipe I had in there for him and bob his head out of the water waiting for food. Poor little guy is lonely I would say....you need some friends. Well the Blue 'dori' fish and the Yellow Atalantic Tang have been best buddies for almost a year. They swim everywhere with each other. So now that I have added the Coral Beauty which I named 'Sunny' it will be a cute trio tee hee

Mr. Nate is getting so big. Its really weird when I can tell myself and I live with him. ha
He enjoys Bible stories, music, and walks on the beach.....oops I mean in his sand box :)
He was acting up one day and I told him I was going to ship him to China. He said, "no no mom ship me to grammys" LOLOLOLOL (he loves his grammy and papa so much)
The kittens are getting big. Jamie has finally grown to love them. I think he needed more time from Sy as I did too. Its still hard some days but with Remmy's demanding attitude you cant help but smile and squeeze him. Ashes has become very vocal. The siamies is really starting to come out. Hes also getting fat and lays around the house alot. I can be in the bathroom putting on makeup and hes meowing at me because I am not looking at him and talking to him. Remmy meows really loud when I am in the kitchen because he thinks hes getting treats. The crazy kitties
